artist micro-residency
Studio C is excited to announce our first open call for submissions for artists seeking a one-week micro-residency. The residency is designed to offer artists time and space to experiment, create, and connect within a supportive and safe environment. This is a fully sponsored micro-residency with private access to the studio and yard.
About Studio C:
Located on Treaty 6 territory and the Homeland of the Metis, in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood of Saskatoon, SK, Studio C is a dynamic studio and gallery space that fosters creativity and collaboration across various artistic disciplines. Studio C is dedicated to supporting artistic practice, exploration, and expression with our regular art exhibitions and events.
Residency Details:
Duration: February 15 - 22, 2025 with an open studio on February 23, 2025
Location: Studio C, 409 Avenue C North, Saskatoon, SK
Deadline for Application: January 26, 2025
Mediums Supported: All arts disciplines.
What We Provide:
Access to our studio facilities 9am-10pm daily.
Curator visit with Leah Taylor from the CAG/KAG.
Documentation of residency and artwork, as well as headshots by Carey Shaw.
Promotion through Studio C’s networks.
Opportunity to present or discuss your work-in-progress at the end of the residency, in an open-studio event or artist talk.
Eligibility:
Open to local artists of all mediums.
Emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply.
Selection Process:
Applications will be reviewed by a panel composed of Studio C advisory board. Evaluation criteria will include originality, clarity of vision, feasibility of the project, and need for space.
Financial Details:
This micro-residency is fully sponsored and there will be no facility costs to the artist. You must supply your own materials for your project and comply with the User Agreement for the space.
